How it all started

Click for larger image		 The inaugural "meeting" of the Society took place in the small village of Sandsend, near Whitby, Yorkshire in June 1980. Having been allowed out for one of their few games of golf the boys returned to find that Janet and Di had purchased a "trophy" (coffee mug) for the winner . It was duly presented to Peter. Had Steuart known that a trophy was at stake he would have tried much harder. Little did they know that their match marked the founding of one of the most respected golfing societies in the country or that so much damage would be done to their livers over the coming years.
